The Education Alliance of Washoe County has many on-going programs and initiatives. They are outlined below:
Academic Achievement
The Education Alliance fosters collaborative partnerships between K-12, higher education, businesses, parents, and the community, taking an active role in advocating for a seamless educational system that helps all students successfully achieve their career and life goals.

Community Partnering
The Education Alliance provides opportunities for school and community relationship building, focusing on using community resources to strengthen academics. Businesses and organizations are partnered with K-12 schools to provide classroom supplies, donations, volunteers and other resources.

Focus on Literacy Initiative
Focus on Literacy Initiative is a comprehensive approach to literacy, and includes purchasing grade level books, funding the After School Literacy Tutoring Program, providing professional development to certified teachers in best practice literacy interventions, and upgrading technology for literacy learning at selected at-risk elementary schools.

Nevada State Parent Information & Resource Center (PIRC)
The Parent Information Resource Center (PIRC), a statewide federally funded grant program, offers programs and activities to strengthen partnerships among parents and school personnel in meeting educational needs of children and ultimately leading to gains in student academic achievement.
Programs: MAPPS, FLITE, Parent School Partnership Program, Train the Trainer state-wide, ESEA Outreach and Education, COW, CALF, Apple Seeds Home Visits
